A human hair weave can be dyed to any color because it is unprocessed virgin hair.  You can dye it as your own hair by hair dye and hair developer, and even the same tools. It is very simple when you mix your dye before gently applying it directly to the hair weaves. Wash it after dyeing it to keep it clean and shiny. Note: hair dye will not work on synthetic hair, just for virgin human hair weaves.

  1. Prepare for dyeing human hair weave
  2. Choose any hair dye you love. Remember don’t use fabric dyer. When you want to make the hair color lighter, you need to bleach the hair first.
  3. Use gloves to protect your skin from irritation and mix a proper volume hair developer with the dyer in a plastic bowl. The length of the hair depends on how much dyer and developer you will be used.
  4. Applying the dye on the human hair weave
  5. The first thing you should do before applying the dye is that test hair dye with a few strands.
  6. Apply the dye on the hair weaves with a brush.
  7. Use a plastic wrap to cover your hair, then let it develop. Generally, the dark dye takes about 25 minutes to develop, but make sure to follow the instructions on the back of the box. While the color processes, check on the hair every 5 minutes until it reaches the color you want.
  • Wash the human hair weave dye
  • Rinse away the hair dye thoroughly with warm water. In a sink or bathtub, rinse the dye out of the extensions. Run your fingers through the hair and massage the excess color out. Keep rinsing water through the hair until it runs clean.
  • Soak your hair in deep conditioning treatment for 15 minutes. It’s important to replenish the moisture in your hair after using dye. Spread a deep conditioning treatment through the damp hair.
  • Lightly towel-dry and air-dry. The hair may still contain a bit of excess color so make sure to wash clearly. Gently squeeze out the excess water, leaving the strands lightly damp. Lay the extensions out to fully air-dry. Once the hair is completely dry, it’s ready to be worn. If you are blow-drying it, run the hair dryer up and down through your hair.

With proper care and a little creativity, you can keep your color-treated human hair weave looking shiny and vibrant.

  • Wash your hair less often.
  • To help keep color-treated hair looking fresh, flip your hair over and spray dry shampoo at the roots to soak up oil.
  • Use lukewarm or cooler water to shampoo.
  • Buy high-quality shampoo and conditioner for color-treated hair. Sodium Laureth sulfate, also known as sodium laureth ether sulfate, is a type of anionic detergent that is found in many personal care products. This ingredient is used to help produce a foaming effect to your shampoos and conditioners. By using sulfates, you run the risk of stripping your hair of its natural oils and moisture, which can then lead to stripping your beautiful color-treated hair (which you just spent hours and dollars at the hair salon to achieve). Try using a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to keep your hair color from fading.
  • On your off days of not washing your hair, try using color-safe dry shampoos. These will refresh your hair and make it look like you just got a blowout without even having to wash your hair!
  • Wait at least 72 hours before shampooing
  • Avoid chlorine:Chlorine is a chemical bleaching agent that cleans pools and will definitely strip color from your hair when enjoying a sunny pool day. So, if you find yourself wanting to go to the pool, try a swimmer’s cap.
